The enlighten has the ExtraordinAir system, an innovative air threading system. A bellows activated at the push of a button threads the looper threads reliably and quickly. Simply select the desired looper thread, insert it into the threading opening, press the button and the thread is automatically threaded into the looper eye of the enlighten – for all loopers and regardless of the threading order. It couldn’t be more convenient!

The enlighten is also equipped with a mechanical needle threader that clicks into place to make it easier to use.

Rolled hem, flatlock seam or border stitch: the wide range of possible uses of overlock seams invites you to experiment and decorate. With the enlighten, the variety of seam options can be topped even further, because it can be used to create unique wave seams. The wave seam is a special stitch that turns even the simplest piece of fabric into an eye-catcher. These wave-shaped creations can only be made with baby lock overlockers.

The differential feed can be used to significantly improve the appearance of the sewn pieces. Unwanted seam puckering, unsightly gathered or wavy seams can easily be prevented, because the differential feed ensures optimal fabric feeding. In addition, the setting options can also be used to deliberately achieve imaginative gathering effects.

When the stitch width dial is adjusted, the stitch finger and the upper blade move together. Thanks to this special technology, the seam width can be adjusted very easily. The actual seam width changes and not just the cutting width as is the case with conventional machines. Overcuts and undercuts are prevented and there is no need to adjust the amount of looped thread. The stitch becomes wider or narrower without the need for annoying and time-consuming adjustment.

Clearly marked and accessible at all times, the stitch length can be adjusted with just one dial. In the standard sewing area, the stitch length can be varied from 0.75 to 4 in the desired length. The ‘standard’ and ‘rolled hem’ settings allow for a simple change to rolled hem. This lowers the stitch finger, and allows a very narrow stitch.

The enlighten has an extra high, two-stage foot lift of up to 8 mm. This means that even higher layers of fabric fit between the foot and the feed dog.

When sewing two-thread seams, the enlighten’s subsidiary looper/converter can be easily activated. Since it is firmly connected to the upper looper, it cannot be misplaced or lost.

You can store important items in the practical accessory compartment under the spool holder. The delivery includes:

While most machines use angled needles that can push and damage the fabric, the needles on baby lock sewing machines have vertical needle penetration. This exclusive feature protects your fabric and prevents the needles from being damaged. It also gives you greater power when sewing.

All machines have long-lasting and powerful LED lighting, a stable telescopic thread guide, a needle tray, high stitch reliability and precisely adjustable foot pressure. Wherever sewing takes place, fibers fly. This applies to overlock machines more than to any other sewing machine. Regular cleaning is essential due to the sewing dust. This prevents large amounts of fluff from piling up under the needle plate and affecting sewing. The side flap on the enlighten can be opened, which makes cleaning much easier.

The enlighten sews when the foot is raised, but not when the flaps are open. This reduces a possible source of error.
