The right thread for baby lock machines

The quality of the sewing thread is crucial for perfect seams with your overlock, coverstitch or coverlock machine. Lower quality threads can lead to sloppy seams, curling or thread breaks.

The market offers a wide range of threads in different materials and thicknesses – from cotton and polyester to decorative threads.

For baby lock machines, we recommend the following thread types, among others:

• Woolly nylon thread: ideal for lingerie and sportswear because it is soft and stretchy.
• Rainbow thread: for colourful, decorative accents.
• Extra thick bouffant thread, multicoloured bouffant thread and metallic bouffant thread: for special effects (e.g. wavy seams) and sturdy seams.
• Overlock thread: the standard thread for all overlock applications.
