The advantages of a combination machine
Combination machines are designed so that they can be used both as a fully-fledged overlock machine and as a fully-fledged cover stitch machine. However, combination machines can do even more, as both areas also work together. Combined stitches for hems, decorative seams or joining seams of firm to stretchy fabrics can be sewn not only at the hem edge but also in the centre of the fabric on the Gloria or the Ovation. These machines can be converted in just a few simple steps. With our combination machines, there is no need to worry about compromising on the quality of the stitches. They impress in every work area with stitch reliability and user-friendly technology.
The entire spectrum of hems, seams or decorative stitches
Combination machines offer many interesting possibilities. On the one hand, they perform all the operations you would expect from a pure overlock or cover stitch machine. On the other hand, there are many variants in which both stitch types can be produced or combined in a single pass. One example of this is the industrial five-thread safety stitch. In addition, almost any overlock stitch can be sewn in combination with any cover stitch. So you can experiment and combine to your heart’s content. More than 80 different variations can be sewn in this way on baby lock combination machines.
This spectrum is extended even further by a wide range of accessories, because the baby lock accessories, consisting of sewing feet in the overlock area or attachments in the cover area, are of course also available for our combined machines. Which combination machine will it be?
Three combination sewing machines are currently available in the baby lock range. The desire3 is our compact all-rounder. It combines conveniences such as automatic thread delivery, air threading or 5-thread stitch variety in a small space. If you need a little more, it’s worth taking a look at the Ovation or the Gloria. They not only have a large throat space, knee lift or speed control. They also sew with a maximum of eight threads, including a wave stitch. The Gloria scores with even more convenience. It even threads the needles automatically and has additional safety features and optimised thread paths.

A wide range of accessories is available for the combi machine range. You can get sewing feet from the overlock range or attachments from the cover stitch range. This means that you are ideally equipped for all sewing situations.
